I've been using Firefox for many years now, on and off mind you, but still using it ever since I've switched to Linux and Free Software in general. Throughout these years Mozilla's made many changes and I've overlooked them but recently it's come to the point where I can't overlook them anymore.
It pains me to say so but Firefox is now actively working against their users and with every release they introduce changes that are met with visible dissatisfaction (to say the least) from their users. Let that sink in. And it doesn't matter they need to make money or whatever, I get that they have to make money (by for example making google the default search engine) but that doesn't mean they're somehow obliged to remove compact mode (muh "not supported") or the view image option from the context menu. There are things they should be (even though I don't agree with them) able to do to make money but there should also be some boundaries set that they can never cross.
I tried many times to switch to a different browser but sooner or later I was back to Firefox, this's no longer the case. Even though I may sometimes need it to open some website... well you know what, I'm just not gonna use websites that can't be rendered everywhere. If you can't make your stupid website render in Palemoon then you're not worth my time. Yeah, that's right, I've switched to Palemoon, even though many I have to forego many extensions, even though Palemoon's devs are furries full of themselves, even though I don't agree with many of their personal views. It's just a browser that's less in my way than Firefox is and it's not changing it's looks EVERY, FUCKING, RELEASE.
As for what's in my way, well there's a lot of useless things included by default, you have to use a custom user.js file to prevent it from spying on you ( https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js ), also the always changing design (recently the "megabar" or whatever, and the UI makeover in 89.0 - really hate that one, a lot of unnecessary whitespace and a lot of things just removed) and it just gets worse overall with each release. Am I too vague? Well, maybe, there's just too much wrong to write about.
This might've turned into a rant but I got interrupted when I was like halfway through writing it and kinda lost track of things, well I'm not gonna rewrite the whole thing just because of that.
